My name is Catherine Vicknair (she/her/hers) and I work with adults and adolescents in dealing with the struggles life throws at them. With all of my clients, my goal is to work with them mutually on developing solutions and providing them with the tools they need to live confident, independent, and successful lives (#liveyourbestlife). I’m most passionate about working with clients in the LGBTQ+ community and related issues as well as those that want to learn more about their gender identity and sexuality. But, I also enjoy working with clients that have other struggles such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, anger, coping skills, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, emotional control, etc.
I usually practice from CBT, reality therapy, and solution focused approaches. However, I believe that all of my clients are unique and sometimes other modalities may work better; in which case, I will adjust my techniques according to my client’s needs. I am also certified in Telehealth and can provide counseling services online.

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to fully explore and accept themselves. With a solid counselor-client relationship based on empathy, trust, and understanding, we can collaborate together to identify your strengths as well as explore concerns, challenges and areas for growth.
Each client is truly unique. I typically practice from a cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approach, however I may incorporate different modalities in order to best suit each client’s needs. Through an integrative approach, we can more fully address your challenges and equip you with the tools you need to overcome them.
